Hubbard Lab Support Team
Learn about some of the most important members of our group! They don't have the dexterity to pipette or the patience for statistical analyses, and some would rather snack on our birds than study them...but they make up for these deficiencies with cuddles, cuteness, and companionship!
Pacey is one of the original members of the Hubbard Lab, joining the support team in 2014 years before the lab landed at Truman. Having a keen interest in genetics, she insisted on learning about her ancestry and discovered she is 61% American pit bull terrier, 19.5% American bulldog, 13.5% American Staffordshire terrier, and 6% bulldog. She enjoys watching birds at the feeder in the front yard and vigorously alerts them about approaching neighborhood cats. But if she ever got ahold of a bird, she might treat it like this poor stuffed goose, so Pacey does not help with field work. She prefers the comforts of writing on the couch cuddled under blankets with plentiful treats. Other hobbies include endless bouts of frisbee, meeting students on campus walks, and learning new tricks!
While she’s not a big fan of field work, Oracle is an important member of the Hubbard Lab support team. She enjoys chilling in her tank or hanging out on Ashley’s desk at home, and is an excellent overseer of paper writing and data sorting. Oracle also encourages frequent snack breaks, and will resort to drastic, mouse cursor-eating measures if her advice is not taken. She sees all, knows all, and eats all!
